The big news in Vancouver today was the winner for the Non-Partisan mayoral nominee. Incumbent Mayor Sam Sullivan, or Councillor Peter Ladner? Voters spoke, Peter Ladner is the NPA candidate for the November mayoral race. Sullivan states that he is not continuing in politics and is going to “go off into the sunset.”
Miss Opinionate has to say that the majority of Vancouverites are immensly relieved. Sam Sullivan has been (and this I did find in a previous issue of a newspaper, possibly the 24) the “worst mayor in the history of Vancouver.” Really! I thought he was fabulous. Please convey my sarcastic delight.
Congratulations Peter Ladner. Thank you for ridding Vancouver of Sullen Sullivan.

Thank God he’s out. Did you have the chance to read the Sun’s article on him and his philosophy? It was shocking. If you didn’t read it you should, apparently he adheres to stoicism as his religion of choice.
Now this brings up the question should we really be entrusting our city to someone that follows an ancient and mostly dead religion? Further to that, should we be following someone who thinks that they are speaking to their ancestors? Shocking!
